Red Haze..

Captains blog, stardate 28.9.2009..

The capitan has been poorly of late, confined to quarters, 2 starweeks off work, left the crew to fend for themselves on the bridge, but tried to keep Enterprise on course by use of the back-up computer at my desk.. It's been a fair tough time recently for my portfolio, me being a med/long term player, trying not to succumb to the profit taking volatility of the masses, but if one doesn't play the game then all percentages start to drift into the red, going down, evaporating long earned gains.. There are dozens of different ways of trading in the zone of planet StockMarket, and building a portfolio requires skill, patience, fortitude, discipline but if you have too many stocks within to watch and play it can become an issue during market dips, or if a proper correction comes.. Costs will mount up when you need to sell out fast for a quick profit, bid/offer spreads could expand on a sell-off, and broker commissions multiply.. One investing master of the planet believes in only having 10 holdings at a time, main-market stocks, liquid even on a sell-down, easy to get out fast if need be, but other masters think holding many more stocks can counter the effects of a correction with the theory many move in opposing directions.. Whatever the optimal portfolio, it's not great to see holdings drifting down into that red mist that clouds planet StockMarket sometimes..

Moximillion..
