The Trading System..

Captains blog, stardate 23.7.2009..

I must begin the laborious task of developing a system for my trades, time consuming plotting, brain-storm and take notes, launch myself into Dr Elder's stock logging methods with pen and paper, minimise the layout best I can, and tweak it into a fool proof entity beyond my apprenticeship.. Keeping a log is essential, every good trader has one, unless you have a photographic memory writing things down, creating a spreadsheet, and typing out thoughts is the best way to winning.. The captain must develop a system which fits his personality, a way of trading, encompassing ideas and strategies for beating the annual index percentage, ideas plucked from the many books read on the mind-boggling subject.. The ships computer needs a clean-up, clutter fills the windows, simplicity is the way to work, not overloading the memory with irrelevant clap-trap, concentrate on the simple fundamentals, devise a clear method on the technicals, and create the system which works.. Be careful cap, it's easy to drift into bad habits, log them in then, good and bad, losing and winning, habits must be tossed aside or held tight, your trading system must eject all loss-making habits..
